Two Months Later.. : Part II

so i was driving back home that evening. all tired, straight from work. i was approaching seremban when the road got really busy. not congested or jammed all yet, but surely there were a lot of cars. and as usual, even with 3 lanes nowadays, it almost made no difference. the leftmost lane is always dominated by big lorries n busses which don't exactly move slow. they would eventually venture into the middle lane to overtake each other without even bothering to give signals. and we, the smaller vehicles, would just have to watch their masquerade and at our best, try to predict their movement so we wont be crushed into pieces when they decided to suddenly come out and overtake the other. tired and annoyed with their attitude, i switched to the rightmost lane n stayed there. with that many cars and lorry masquerades, the average speed even on that speeding lane was only about 100km/h. so i was just driving, still on the rightmost lane, singing to myself when suddenly, about 50m in front of me, on the middle lane, there was a big chunk of exploded lorry tyre in the middle of the road! my speed as well as the other cars on my lane was fairly around 90km/h to 100km/h at that time. and i'm assuming the cars in the middle should be at at least 80km/h. seeing that really big piece of tyre in the middle of the road made the cars on the middle lane swivel suddenly (at speed) to the left and the right lane. it was still okay for the cars on the left lane coz they have the emergency lane spaces to swivel into. but not to us on the right lane. a lot of the cars in front of me had to made an emergency brake and so was i. it happened very quickly. all i could remember was the big tyre chunk on the road, sounds of a lot of tires squeaking and a 2 bams at the back of my car. with jolts of course. i was hit by a car. and that car was hit by another. it was a chain accident.

it was all chaos when it happened. left with no choice like the other cars in front of us, we all HAD to make the emergency brake. but i was fortunate that i didn't hit the car in front of me. i always hold on to the old-fashioned-very-girly-driving habit of keeping a sufficient distance with the car in front of me everytime i drive. and that day, it saved my ass. it didn't save my car's ass though. huhuu.. ironically, my chain accident "mates" were both guys. enough said. not to condemn or to raise sexist, but.. speaking from my own experiences.. explicitly or implicitly.. somehow male drivers look down on female drivers. they kinda like to 'bully' us. they like to follow us so closely as if they were the only ones who paid the road tax and speed as if they were michael schumacher driving in sepang F1 circuit. that does not include those 'gatal' ones who are willing to follow your speed just so that they can be by your side to act like monkeys. yupe, that had happened to me too. i'm not saying ALL male drivers. maybe just some. but it's true.

i was slightly shaking when i got out of the car. it was the first accident in my 6 years of driving. all the three of us came out of the car, and went straight to look at the damages without muttering a single word. it was quite a while before one of us started it. "so.. what now?" and the three of us smiled. not out of happiness, certainly. out of "wtf-just-happened" feeling. well since i was the first car, the damages was only to my rear bumper. at least that was how it looked at that time. it was hard to judge when u were in the middle of the road, causing jams to other traffickers. ahahahah. yah.. the jam on the north-south highway heading south on friday evening, 29th august 2008 was caused by ME. well not me actually. the car behind who hit me. or should i say the stupid tyre chunk? hm..

the car that hit me was a kelisa, drove by a malay guy who called me kakak, whom i almost punch when i found out he was older than me by two years. and the car that hit him was an old honda accord, drove by a chinese guy in his mid 20's. well i dun really care about him. i care about the kelisa as it was his insurance that would pay for my damages. hehehe. after a while, the traffic police came, clear the road and instructed us to move to the emergency lane and continue our little discussions there so we dun congest the whole highway anymore.

as we were exchanging personal details and taking pictures of each other's car to make the police report, suddenly there were a lot of mechanics coming out of nowhere, offering their assistance. lucky for me, the accident of my viva recently had taught me not to trust these people. i rejected their offer as politely as i possibly could coz i was kinda afraid of them. they look like Along! boxy hair, fierce face, loud voice, wearing just a singlet and jeans, with a thick gold necklace, a cigar in one hand and a large walkie talkie on the other. i suddenly had a crazy imagination that this guy would kill me. huhuu..

after that, i drove away from the "crime scene" to lodge a police report at the nearest police station in Seremban 2. n then went straight back home. very slow this time. i was pretty much traumatized. my mom wasn't angry. she wasn't pleased either, i supposed. but i pitied her n i really felt sorry. i know her car is as important to her as my car is to me. there was nothing i could do. i guess it was just my bad luck. i did drive her car carefully. as i said, maybe it was meant to happen. even when i didn't hit anyone, others hit me. but the good news is.. her insurance is safe and untouched.

so now i'm back with my car, n my mom with hers. only not physically with her. it is still in the workshop, being fixed. i came to learn that there were damages to the rear chasis, unfotunately. right under the car boot. we are guaranteed a genuine Honda spare parts. and since the damages are not as much, it will be ready by this weekend.

it had been more than 10 days now but i'm still quite traumatized by it. i dun realize it at first. i thot i was just fine but i could feel my heart heavily pounding everytime i see the car in front of me brakes on the road eventhough i have quite a distance. and even pressing the brake to stop for traffic lights doesn't feel the same anymore. i also find myself suddenly super concern of other cars swiveling into my lane. haih.. i guess it would be a while before i could gain my full courage again. but it's not like i have the choice to stop driving and rest my soul for a while. i still have to. unless there's someone who wants to be my driver at no charge. anyone? dun hesitate to contact me :)

ahaha. chill nia.. i'm still alive. eventhough.. i'm really starting to doubt that, considering everybody's reactions. they said some people didn't know when they have died. true meh? how to make sure? i've tried walking through the wall, but i kept hitting my head. i've even tried to fly up to my apartment instead of taking lifts, but that also didn't work. when i talk to people around me, they did reply back. so it should either be i'm still alive, or those people are crazy. hm.. but dun worry, i'll do futher experiments and let u know kay ;)
